ERPT – Eudosia Remote Power Turbine

Continuous, autonomous ORC power for remote and unmanned sites, from the Arctic to the desert and offshore

Up to 10 kW per station

Regulated 48 V DC output

Operating range −45 °C to +65 °C

Designed for 30+ years with no overhaul

The ERPT (Eudosia Remote Power Turbine) is an electrical generation system for remote, unmanned applications, based on the Organic Rankine Cycle. It produces continuous power with minimal maintenance in the most extreme environments, from the Arctic to the hottest deserts and offshore, offering a real alternative to solar and wind solutions.

Overview

Developed by Eudosia Sistemi and protected by patent, the ERPT is an outdoor unit that converts the heat of a gas burner into regulated DC power. A station delivers up to 10 kW, generated to match the actual load demand, with a regulated 48 V DC output (24 V DC on request). It is designed for unattended operation, with an annual visual inspection as the only scheduled maintenance, and for more than 30 years of service with no overhaul and no performance ageing of critical parts. Remote monitoring and control are built in.

How it works

  1. Combustion: the gas burner heats the organic working fluid in the vapour generator
  2. Vaporisation: the fluid turns to vapour, under vacuum, below 200 °C and 1 bar
  3. Turbo-alternator: the vapour drives a turbine coupled to an alternator, generating three-phase power
  4. Condensation: an air-cooled condenser returns the fluid to the closed loop, and the electric and control system rectifies and regulates the output

Main components

Combustion system (gas supply, burner and exhaust); vapour generator; turbo-alternator; air-cooled condenser; electric and control system; lightweight anti-seismic structural frame sized for a standard container; walk-in shelter housing the combustion and control systems.

Configurations

  • Offshore: certified for ATEX Zone 2, Group IIA, T3, with a footprint of less than 12 m² for platforms and barges
  • Desert: operates up to +65 °C with a special working fluid mix and boosted cooler fans, in high dust and sand
  • Arctic: operates down to −45 °C with a no-freeze mix, dedicated insulation and structural materials rated for the design temperature
  • Hybrid: combined with existing power equipment on site

Applications

Power for remote and unmanned industrial sites: gas pipelines and wellheads, offshore platforms, Arctic and desert installations, telecommunication and control equipment in the Oil & Gas and Power Generation sectors. As the original equipment manufacturer, Eudosia Sistemi can adapt the unit to customer requirements and integrate the customer’s own equipment shelter with the ERPT.

Technical data

Fuel: natural gas or LPG at 1–4 barg, with a consumption of 8.8 Nm³/h at 4 kW. Dimensions 5,140 × 2,200 × 5,434 mm, weight approximately 8,050 kg. Operating temperature from −45 °C to +40 °C for the Arctic model and from −10 °C to +65 °C for the desert and offshore models; storage from −50 °C to +70 °C; wind resistance up to 40 m/s sustained and 45 m/s in gusts.

Safety and compliance

Protections include over-voltage shutdown, protection against intermittent and permanent short circuits, vapour generator and condenser over-temperature shutdown, turbine over-speed protection and pilot flame failure shutdown. Units are built to EN/CEI 61439 and CEI 64-8, UNI EN 1090-1/-2 and ISO 3834-2, with welding procedures qualified to ASME IX, AWS D1.1 and EN 15614, structural design to EN 1090, AWS, CSA S16 and AS/NZS, stack design to ASME STS-1, EN 13084 and Eurocodes, and pressure equipment to PED, ASME, GOST and ARH. See our quality and certifications page.

The ERPT is designed, assembled and tested by Eudosia Sistemi at Inveruno, within the Group’s 100% in-house production cycle. Contact us with your load profile and site conditions.
