Corrosion Protection n. 14, April 2026, published by ipcm, features Albizzati Group in a cover story dedicated to the advanced air handling and environmental control systems of the new surface treatment department at the Magenta production site.
An international editorial recognition
The feature is an important recognition for the Group within the international industrial coatings and surface treatment sector. It presents the technological and operational choices behind the surface treatment area built at Magenta and operational since 2025, where shot blasting, coating, pickling and drying are carried out for complex Oil & Gas, petrochemical, power generation and heavy industrial applications.
The article also reflects the Group’s positioning as a fully integrated industrial partner. As Luca Albizzati, Account Executive, explains in the piece: «We have chosen to insource the entire production cycle, from metalworking to surface treatments, which, incidentally, are among the most critical process phases in terms of both lead times and execution quality».
The subject: air handling in integrated surface treatments
The cover story describes how the Magenta production layout was designed to separate machining activities from surface treatment operations, allowing dedicated management of coating, shot blasting and pickling processes through extraction, filtration and air handling systems, developed in collaboration with Eurotherm. Particular attention is given to:
- Dust extraction for shot blasting operations
- Aerosol filtration during liquid coating phases
- Fume and vapour extraction generated by pickling processes
- Controlled drying environments with heated air management
- Industry 4.0 monitoring of environmental and operational parameters
The publication underlines the growing importance of environmental control, emissions management and process validation in highly regulated industrial sectors, where surface treatment quality directly affects the reliability and durability of the final product, especially in applications requiring high corrosion resistance, fire protection systems and strict compliance with international regulations.
Why it matters for our clients
Surface treatment is one of the six phases of our 100% in-house production cycle. Across the Group’s sites we operate five sandblasting and painting rooms from 10 × 27 m to 17 × 45 m and three pickling and passivation rooms from 8 × 15 m to 17 × 27 m, sized for the modules and structures we build. Keeping this phase in-house means that a blast-resistant room or a gas turbine duct moves from welding to coating to integration without leaving our control, with painting and coating tests performed on every unit before delivery.
Albizzati Group thanks ipcm and the editorial team of Corrosion Protection for the feature.
