True reliability is achieved long before a project is delivered. It is the result of rigorous engineering, controlled manufacturing processes and comprehensive testing. Our ten certifications are the external proof of that control. Here is what each one actually guarantees to the client of an engineered module, duct or vessel.
Three groups, one purpose
Our certifications fall into three groups: management systems, which govern how the whole organisation works; fabrication certifications, which govern how steel is cut, welded and documented; and specialist product certifications, which allow specific products to be placed on the market with a recognised mark. Together they allow us to support projects in highly regulated markets in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. All certificates can be downloaded from our quality and certifications page.
Management systems
ISO 9001:2015
Both Albizzati S.p.A. and Alex Sistemi hold ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification issued by DNV, with initial certification dating back to 2000 and 1996 respectively. The scopes matter: for Albizzati S.p.A., the design and manufacturing of components for turbines and petrochemical plants, metallic structures and pressure vessels; for Alex Sistemi, the design, manufacture, assembly, qualification and testing of shelters, containers and cabinets equipped with electrical, electronic, telecommunication, HVAC and fire-fighting systems, across the Ossona, Inveruno and Guasticce sites. For the client this means that engineering changes, material traceability, inspections and non-conformities are handled through audited procedures, not individual initiative.
ISO 45001
Occupational health and safety management certification covers the people who cut, weld, blast and paint. A safe workshop is also a predictable one: fewer incidents mean fewer interruptions to the schedule.
Fabrication
EN 1090
EN 1090 factory production control, certified by DNV as Notified Body, allows structural steel components to be CE marked under the Construction Products Regulation up to execution class EXC3, the class required for most industrial and energy structures. The certificate also fixes the welding processes and parent material groups covered and names the responsible welding coordinators.
ISO 3834-2:2021
The comprehensive level of welding quality requirements. It guarantees qualified procedures, qualified welders and welding coordinators on every joint, with procedure qualification to ASME IX, ASME V and AWS D1.1 and product standards including EN 1090, EN 13480, PED 2014/68/EU and ASME VIII Div. 1.
CSA W47.1 and A660 Canadian Standard
Both Albizzati S.p.A. and Alex Sistemi are certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau to CSA W47.1 Division 2 for the fabrication of steel products for the oil and gas industry. This is what allowed the Field Auxiliary Rooms for the LNG plant in Canada to be accepted without re-qualification. A660 adds compliance of steel building systems with Canadian requirements.

Registration of the Santo Stefano Ticino plant as a steel processing centre under the Italian technical standards for construction, with every processed product traceable to the job order.
Specialist product certifications
ASME VIII Div. 1, U-Stamp
The Certificate of Authorization issued by ASME allows Albizzati S.p.A. to manufacture pressure vessels bearing the ASME Single Certification Mark at the Magenta site. Pressure vessels and shell and tube heat exchangers can therefore be delivered U-stamped, accepted by operators and insurers worldwide.
EN 13084-7
Factory production control certified by Kiwa Cermet Italia for free-standing steel exhaust stacks from 2,000 to 5,000 mm in diameter, manufactured in Magenta: gas turbine stacks are supplied as CE-marked construction products.
SOLAS Deck Manufacturer
Approval for the manufacture of decks for marine applications, in compliance with the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea.
Defence: standards and qualification
For defence programmes, Alex Sistemi is registered with NCAGE code AH797 and works to AQAP 2110, with shelters designed and qualified to MIL-STD 810, 461/462, 285, 907, 1472 and 889, ASTM 1925-99 and NATO S-250, S-280 and S-788.
Certification is not the test
A certificate proves that the system is sound. The test proves that the unit in front of you is. That is why every module, duct and vessel is tested in-house before delivery, dimensionally, electrically, functionally and environmentally, from −35 °C to +70 °C, and handed over with a factory acceptance test witnessed by the client.
